Buy Merino – Australian Retailer Directory
Australian Designers
AWI is building direct business relationships, alliances with designers, retailers, fabric manufacturers and garment makers. The result is a number of high performing, premium quality Australian Merino wool textiles and apparel products available around the world. Some of the designers AWI has worked with include:
Easton Pearson
Pamela Easton and Lydia Pearson are the talent behind the Brisbane based label – Easton Pearson. The label was established in 1989 when the two ladies felt the need to create ‘clothes with soul’. The Easton Pearson signature style is romantic, bohemian and unstructured, often going against the grain of traditional tailoring and garment construction.
Jayson Brunsdon
The Jayson Brunsdon label launched in 2003. The range is now available at David Jones and other leading boutiques in Australia with his first stand alone store opening in Sydney’s Strand Arcade in November 2005. He now retails to 42 stores across 7 countries including Australia, America, and the United Kingdom.
The Jayson Brunsdon signature look is understated glamour which blends from day into evening effortlessly. He focuses on key shapes with feminine design details making them wearable and beautiful.
Josh Goot
In 2004 Josh Goot the label was launched to fill a void that was apparent in Australia; clothing for a modern lifestyle. His collections are focused on the concept of ‘tailored comfort’ and his designs are new and clean with a minimalist, ‘future smart’ appeal.
Peter Morrissey
Peter Morrissey is one of Australia’s iconic men of fashion – in 1997 Peter Morrissey’s experiences lead him to open the label MORRISSEY.
“Morrissey is for men and women who have an intrinsic desire to look and feel sensual without fuss, to live a fast modern lifestyle with ease and to compliment their best assets to full potential without ever looking like they’ve gone out of their way” says Morrissey.
Tina Kalivas
In May 2002 Tina Kalivas launched her own label. With all her knowledge and experience in Costume and Fashion, the label displays her technical ability to translate conceptual, ultra-modern ideas into unique feminine clothes.
“I am very proud to be using Australian Merino wool, one of the world’s finest quality fibres in my collection” stated Ms Kalivas.
Tina Kalivas is now stocked in noted fashion boutiques internationally, including Browns Focus in London.
Woolliwoolli
The woolliwoolli label focuses on exposing the beauty and unique capabilities of Australian Merino wool in the knitted form. With a philosophy of creating clothing that will both nurture and inspire, designer Josephine Nathan develops ranges of original knitted fabrics. Working with the natural drape of cloth, Josephine crafts fabric into comfortable relaxed garment shapes. Using the world’s oldest fibre in simple timeless design, woolliwoolli delivers unexpected knitwear.
